So why the SideScoop?
Well, it all started way back in December 2002, I had my UK MY98 Turbo 2000 Impreza off the road for some mild tweaking, a hybrid turbo, injectors, FMIC etc, etc.
Prior to this, the car was running a nice Japanese made, stainless steel cone filter (you know the make - sounds like titz) mounted within the engine bay, a great piece of kit, sounded fantastic too, but there was always that feeling, it was just sucking in a load of hot air - time to eBay it!
So an APS inner wing filter and hard pipe kit was purchased and installed.
But as with most things I was wondering if it could be improved, could I get more cold air to the filter?
So for the next 2 years I tried and tested a number of designs the result being this small air scoop that fits to the side of your Imprezas’ front bumper, hence the name SideScoop. I don’t claim that it will improve BHP, it won’t give you a “ten second” car, but if you have a inner wing filter, then it will give you a nice supply of cold air.
